Today during my pastoral work in the Trading center, I found one of my parishioners at the bar. He hardly attends Church & has often publicly confessed that he can’t find sleep without drinking some alcohol. He asked me to pray over him to stop the vice of alcoholism. We had a light chat and shared the Word of God which led us to prayer. This teaches us to accept people as they are! From my Pastoral experience, acceptance is the ability to see that others have a right to be their own unique persons. That means having a right to their own feelings, thoughts and opinions. You let them feel the way they want to feel, you let them be different and think differently from you. Everyone is different in one way or another. Once you understand this truth, you can be able to help people change from their undesirable lifestyles to more desirable ones.
